Live your life fully
« Live your life fully, you can if you really want to. « Those words that Swami Radhananda said to a group of YDCers are staying with me. Only a great teacher, one who herself has lived her life fully, is able to say that and encourage in doing that.

Heartfelt Gratitude and Thanks
Swami Radhananda was one of my first Hidden Language teachers. I remember a class focused on Sun Salutations; she read a children’s story about honouring the sun. It was simple, beautiful, inspiring. Doing sun salutations became an act of reverence to the Light. I also remember another time when she read excerpts of Winnie the Pooh with much playfulness. She went to such places of inspiration and would then hold the container for others. For myself, within that container, I touched places of Light, love and beauty within me that I did not know existed before. I also appreciate that she introduced karma yoga into the classes that were taught so that the Teachings came alive in a whole other way – a practical way and I learned so much on so many levels – stretching, growing – digging ditches, working with concrete, roofing assistant … What I remember today is her Brilliance – her Light, her dedication and Love for the Teachings. And the Ashram thrived and thrives on. Thank you Swami Radhananda.

Supporting the highest in you, in me, in us
Swami Radhananda saw each of our Light. She stayed focused on that. She had little patience when I acted small or unsure or arrogant. She knew the Light was there and reminded me to want it with all my heart.
One day I was walking through the garden looking at the vegetables and insects with my son who was 5 years old. Suddenly, silently, Radhananda was there. She offered us two perfectly ripe peaches with her soft skin hands. She thought we might like them. She had so much sweetness to give when I was receptive.
Swami Radhananda created the Young Adult program when I was a young adult. I had a passion for yoga, and coming to an Ashram led by women, feminist was an answer to my heart’s call. The teachings are the foundation for my whole life.
Now my son is 13. The Young Adult program continues, and he knows the Ashram is here for him. I hope he will come and make his own meaning. This community is infused with Swami Radhanada’s innovative and loving spirit.

Jaya Swami Radhananda
You who held me in your heart as I grew in strength. Accepting and challenging me while in your embrace. I watched you dance gracefully through the difficulties with a deep trust in your soul, with a deep knowing in the perfection of life. A humility unbound, listening to everything and everyone around you for the subtle signs of the Divine. This was the wisdom that drew me to you. And taught me to pay attention and wait before leaping, trusting the Divine is always there with a net. It is your image that arises when I think of Love. Radhananda, you will always reside in my heart lovingly, accepting and encouraging me to step into the unknown with the courage that this life demands. Thank-you.

SKY-LIKE MIND
I remember being with Swami Radhananda and how my mind would open up, attuning to her mind. Her dedication to spiritual practice, attuning to the Light, was inspiring and a gift.

Tribute: Swami Radhananda
While I didn’t personally know Swami Radhananda I witnessed the impact she had, through her vision of the youth program, on the development and direction of my daughter’s life as a young woman. I am eternally grateful for her vision that has indelibly touched so many young lives.
