Course requirements include:

  • developing a series of six lesson plans
  • completing a number of supervised teaching sessions with feedback from colleagues and instructors
  • applied study of the physical and symbolic aspects of asana
  • in-depth research of anatomy followed by a presentation
  • a post-course practicum at the Ashram or in your community and a summary of your learning

After certification, we encourage our teachers to offer classes in the spirit of selfless service. Teachers are encouraged every three years.

Successful completion of this course is a prerequisite for the Hidden Language Hatha Yoga Certification.

Cost:

  • $1571 single room, hall bathroom shared with one other person
  • $2000 single ensuite

Bursaries for young adults 18-30 are available on application for those who have financial need.

Reconciliation Fund – Your stay will include a $25 contribution (added to your invoice) toward The Reconciliation Fund initiated January 1, 2022. The collected money will be donated to a First Nations non-profit organization. These contributions, together with offerings from Ashram residents, will be given with the sincere intention to help right past injustices. All who visit or live at Yasodhara Ashram are on the beautiful but unceded territory of First Nations peoples, and we want to take meaningful action and give something back for this privilege.

Package includes dinner on day of arrival, accommodation, three meals daily, workshops and evening satsangs. Optional hatha class and breakfast are included on day of departure.
